Oakwood University like many Historically Black Colleges and University, what really stands out is legacy and family. Other than being a Seventh Day Adventist Institution there was something that always ticked me about Oakwood. That “thing” is the sibling phenomenon at Oakwood. There seem to many sets of twins and triplets at Oakwood during their history.

A couple of years ago I posted a question, asking to name all the twins you know that has attended Oakwood University. The post brought back many comments, that included names that I was familiar with and others who I never thought were a twin or even a sibling to someone. As a sibling that went to Oakwood University there is something special when you go to school with your siblings. There is support, comrades, and protection for your your legacy. Especially if you matriculate at the same time. It’s amazing how certain institutions can foster such strong family ties and legacies.
