Hydraulic fracturing also known as fracking is the retrieving of natural gas from the ground. This is the process of infusing liquid with immense pressure into subterranean rocks, boreholes, and dirt, so much so it forces current fissures open and extracts oil or gas. The process which was originated in the 1940’s has become prominent in the last few years. It has become a profitable business, so with the processes meeting the million mark, has open the opportunity for damaging the environment.

In my humble admission before I had the opportunity to explore fracking, I did not know what is was. What I did know was that there were protests across the country especially in rural areas. Fracking takes place where gas is. This process takes place in rural areas and in populated areas. Fracking is an issue that does not rank high on the protest list. Lately, you hear protests regarding gun violence, women’s rights, and race relations.

The fact is that fracking contributes to the energy to the United States population. The energy that has been dubbed as archaic such as oil, coal, and nuclear power point are what we are used to. All of these energy sources have adverse effects to the environment, unfortunately we need these resources to enhance our lives. The energy produced in the country has been well documented, but out of all the major contributors to energy natural gas is the cleanest. The…
